| Pictured above is the 1999 Street Rodder Road Tour '32 Sedan. The chassis and initial assembly of the car was provided by The Rod Factory (July, August '99 Street Rodder Magazine). Photo was taken in front of the Rod Factory after logging over 25,000 miles, in route to the SEMA show in Las Vegas. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Rod Factory officially opened its doors for business in 1976 working in a 500 sq. ft. garage. We acquired our current 7000 sq. ft. location in 1990 and added an off site laser, waterjet and forming facility in 1996. We manufacture our own frames for '28 thru '40 Fords. Our '32 thru '40 frames are cut from 11 ga. cold rolled steel using CO2 Laser technology to obtain the highest precision possible. In addition to frame rails, we manufacture most of the chassis components used for these frames as well as a complete line of suspension products for the original '28 thru '48 Ford passenger, '35 thru '57 Ford Pick Up, '34 thru '57 Chevy passenger and '36 thru '59 Chevy Pick Up frames. We take personal pride in all the products that we sell and strive to provide personal customer service and quality products at affordable prices. |

300# Heavy '32-'34 sedan

*Coil spring rate is the amount of weight needed to compress 1 spring 1 inch.
Measuring from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface, 55" to 57" is an ideal width for most '28-'40 Street Rods and 60" for most '41 and up. The 8" Ford rear is well suited for most applications as it requires less horse power, doesn't require narrowing and was used in factory muscle cars like the Boss 302 Mustangs.
We DO NOT recommend double flaring stainless steel lines as it work hardens the metal and will cause stress fractures. Double flaring conventional brake and fuel lines is done to provide a smooth sealing surface on the inside of the welded tube. Seamless stainless has a smooth inner surface.
Power boosters are not necessary for disc brake operation. Many factory mid-60's performance cars, including the Corvette, had 4-wheel, 4-piston caliper, disc brakes on which power brakes were an option. These cars also used a single reservoir master cylinder. This type system when installed with 1/4" brake lines will provide very efficient brakes.
Adjustable proportioning valves are for use with single reservoir master cylinders. Equalizer valves for dual reservoir master cylinders, are not the same. The equalizer valve has five (5) lines attached to it and the proportioning valve only has two (2) lines.
