'36 - '54 Chevrolet Chassis Products
The Rod Factory has developed a full line of chassis components for the Chevrolet to get them on the road with a minimal amount of effort. Our Arizona Slam Mustang II kits require frame 'C' notching for steering rack clearance. When installed, the front of the car will set approximately 1-1/2" lower than our standard kit. All Rod Factory products are intended to be welded in place. To insure best possible results, our crossmember kits are constructed of 3/16" material. Use of excessively thick metal induces stress in the frame rails and is difficult to weld to the thinner frame rail material. Bolt-in Mustang II front suspensions do not create torsional rigidity in the frame and will not allow the suspension to function as designed by Ford. Bolt-in products also require crush tubes which need to be welded into the frame to insure that the frame rail sides don't collapse while tightening bolts. Without crush tubes, holes in the frame will elongate and the bolts will continually loosen. To overcome this, welding is required.
